As the thoracic spine is the sturdiest part of the spine, it is less susceptible to injury. Having said that , upper back pain, while less common than lower back pain, is typically due to irritation of the muscles or an issue with a joint. Other less frequent reasons for upper back pain include herniated or deteriorative discs.

However , rest for a sore back ought really to be kept to only two weeks. Otherwise, the muscles in the back begin to atrophy and can become noticeably weak, leaving you open to further unwarranted pain and injury.
